Don’t sacrifice ~ you can have beauty and athleticism. Waheed Al Azhaar RZ ‘Z’ is a 2015 Straight Egyptian Arabian stallion who carries the blood of Egyptian royalty and is showing exceptional promise not only as dressage prospect, but now as a sire.
Z is the only foal from his deceased sire, Amer Azhaar. Amer Azhaar is by Laheeb Al Nasser who was bred in Qatar, he spent some time in the US before being exported to Switzerland, he is sired by World Champion Al Adeed Al Shaqab and out of the World Reserve Champion mare, Bint Saida Al Nasser. Laheeb Al Nasser has subsequently sired many of his own international champions. Amer Azhaar’s dam was the stunningly beautiful Dorian Binthadidi, who was by none other than Hadidi, who has also won championships around the world.
Z’s dam is Desired Millicent, who has now been inspected and accepted into the Oldendburg NA Main Mare Book and she produced a premium Oldenburg colt in 2018 who went onto win site champion at his inspection, his breed class at Dressage at Devon and as a yearling, won a Reserve National Championship in hand. Z’s grandsire is the prolific Thee Desperado, whose offspring are frequently found competing well under saddle.
Z was shown in hand as a two and three year old, earning Regional Titles in hand against mature stallions and previous National Champions. At four we have decided to make his under saddle training a priority and he will return to the show ring soon. Z continues to demonstrate impressive gaits, with a huge, swinging walk, a free shoulder that makes for an expressive trot, and a strong hind end that creates a canter with natural lift.
Z’s first foal has arrived in 2019 with the gaits and intelligence we had anticipated Z would pass on. Jassirah RZ ventured to Dressage at Devon at just three months old to win the Arabian IBC and take home the Reserve Pony Foal Championship.
